How to Download and Use Zoom Meetings
This brief guide will show to pilots how to download and use the Zoom Meetings app on their iPad.
Section 1: Installing
First, open the App Store and locate the Zoom Meetings app. If the button shows up as green instead of white, that means the app should already be installed on your iPad. In that case, skip this section and go to Section 2.
Once you’ve located Zoom, tap the install button and select to confirm the installation.
Once you tap install, it will push an install request for the app. Tap the home button and watch the miscellaneous subfolder.
If it doesn’t darken after a few seconds to start the installation, double tap the home button, and swipe the app store up to close it, then reopen it and try it again.
Section 2: Opening and Using ZOOM
To open Zoom, locate the Miscellaneous subfolder and tap it. Depending on what you have installed, you might have to swipe right to locate Zoom
Zoom’s main page has 3 options to choose from for sign in: Join a Meeting, Sign Up, and Sign In.
If you are provided with a Meeting ID + Password, you can simply select Join a Meeting without having to create an account. Simply enter the meeting ID, add a name to identify yourself with, and tap join. If a password was provided, you’ll be prompted to enter it after tapping join.
Section 3: Creating a Zoom Account (Optional)
Should you need to create a Zoom account to host meetings, follow below.
First, from the main Zoom page on the app, tap the Sign Up button. It will require a brief birth date verification.
You’ll then enter your desired email + first and last name. You can use your jet linx email, if you wish.
It will then send a verification email to that address entered. In said email, you’ll tap the link on it, and create a password for your Zoom account, and start a brief test meeting to ensure your device is good for Zoom meetings.
Once finished, you’ll be able to access the main Zoom page. Here, you can access several options. Primarily to look for is the ability to create new meetings, which will generate a Meeting ID (plus a password should you need it), as well as set a date for that meeting + invite people.
Again, people invited to a Zoom meeting simply need the Meeting ID to join, and do not need to make an account.
